These past few weeks have been hot. Endless days of 30 degrees and upwards, and sunshine forever. Lucky I work closeby the most amazing frozen yogurt store! I convinced (it wasn’t hard) Chris to come meet me one evening after work for pizza at Portone followed by dessert at Yo-Chi. So happy! Portone Pizza is a bit of a revelation – it’s only accessible in the evening by wandering around the back of the shops on Carlisle Street through the uninspiring supermarket carpark, but when you find if you’re going to adore the cute courtyard, hilarious staff, and the most delicious pizza! Wood fired oven, thin crust, and excellent quality toppings.

Chris and I then wandered down past Wall 280, home of fantastic coffee by day, and some beautiful street art by night.

Yo-Chi! Self serve soft-serve frozen yogurt. They even have a dairy free yogurt, it’s soy based, sweetened with honey, I get it every time, it is delicious. You also serve your own toppings, and pay by weight. Ingenious! Yo-Chi is packed with customers all day and into the evening. Fantastic business idea.

The evolution of my yogurt – why have just one topping when you can have them all? My perfect frozen yogurt involves fresh fruit, fruit compote, halva, crumble topping, chocolate covered goji berries and chocolate sauce. Greedy! It’s a sometimes treat though folks.
